Hi fellows. I am trying for a stock/agressive look on my 92 pu like I had on my 40 i.e. very capable in the back woods, looks better than stock but not lifted. I ran 32x9.50 TSL's on my 40 and it looked wicked, no lift. I really like the tall/skinny/millitary look.

I am running 235's on there now and it just does not get it. Real measurement i.e. with tape measure, show a tire height of 28". Looks like I could get another 2-3" if I kept the width down BUT I cannot find a tire in a radial that is sized in a 32X9.50.

I would rather keep the stock wheels so I really do not want to run 31x10.50's-although I know some do.

So, any ideas/pics? a 30x9.50 might do it.

Unless you regear, anything over 31" will bring the suck on road. I am running 31x10.5x15 BFG muds on my 87 pickup and could not imagine the additional powerloss a 32" tire would bring. The R series motor has nowhere near the torque the F series does to make up for the tire size increase. I will probably go down to a 30" or equivalent Pmetric size once these wear out since it no longer sees trail duty.

I just saw a 31X9.50 TSL Radial on INterco's site!!!!!

Now that would be the ticket!!!

Anyone have any experience with this?

31 x 10.5

i have 4.10 with my 89, and 33" tires. not too bad with the improper gearing.
could be better.

i have 35" on my 4.31 axles. not bad. but doesnt suck. should be at least 4.56

but thats why we have low range.

I have 31" ProComp Xterrains on my 85 and even with my freshly rebuilt motor runing so damn good, I still spend a lot of time in 4th at highway speeds to get up inclines. i wouldn't want to go bigger unless I regear.

31's barely fit my saggy spension btw, I have some used lift springs going on soon for a2-3" lift, can't wait.

I'd guess that most 32's aren't a whole lot bigger then most 31's...they differ a LOT by brand so check out the actual tire if you can.

Ah, that looks nice. Were your rear springs tired? Looks like they are drooping a bit. The reason I ask is for rubbing purposes

Yeah, the rear end needs liposuction! 19 year old springs + some stuff in the back... no rubbing though, either in the front or the rear.

There's no noticeable difference in milage over stock, but the wheels / tires are heavier and it lags just a little more taking off from a full stop. The auto trans has a lot to do with that. For me, the tire size had everything to do with what I use the truck for: daily driver, light trail use for fishing and fun, and I didn’t want to regear or lift it. But it is time for new springs!:D

yeah, there is a 4 inch block, but on stock springs and 35 x 12.5"
no rubbin in rear.
i do need to get the front up a few inches. but never have i rubbed in the rear of any of my stock/moddified trucks.

I ran 32x10.50 Swamper Radials for years on my '88 truck with no lift. I stuck them on my daily driver '94 truck for one trip, also with no lift. Here are a couple pics:

I know this isn't really what you're looking for, but here is my junk on 36x12.50 Swampers with only 1.5" of lift. It would have been driveable like this if I did a little bit of firewall/fender trimming. (I was getting ready to SAS it, and I just stuck these on for a week or so to see how it drove). Anyway, the point is you can fit a pretty tall skinny tire in there if you want to:

Hey Beater, Thanks.

Were you running 8" wheels on those 32's? What was the back spacing?

I really would like to run the 31x9.50 on my stock/some stock wheels. My springs are far from tired so if you could do 32's I do nto see why I cannot do 31's.

My friend in High School, mind you this was a while back, had a 86 Toyota that he would run 33 x 12.50's on. No lift and we went into some pretty nasty places. Sure it would rub every now and then but it was never a concern to us.

Anyway, thanks again to you and all. it helps to see
