Pertronix 1665A help.. Real time

Hi Guys,

71 FJ 55... Attempting to install a Pertronix 1665A...can anyone give me advice on how the plate is to be alined? From any given angle it just doesn't seem to line up to the points mount...it says in the directions only one will lineup...Does the lower plate and vacuum advance rod have to be removed?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

well...after looking at this and others...I'm 99% sure that my dizzy is not stock and a 1665A aint gonna work...back to new points/condenser etc until I can find the # on this dizzy....thnaks for the help....i do apprciate it...have a great holiday!!
