I did a little researching and didn't find much. Has anyone ever put one of these in a 60?
Is there an adapter out there?
Any help would be appreciated

Google it up and you can find all the specs. Most of their engines arre showing less than 100 horse, until you get tinto the 1206 series which runs 134 - 225 horse. Be careful which engines you are interested in, as many of the industrial ones are designed to perform at just one speedl. Automotive/truck apps tend to do better off idle and under acceleration. Now owned by Caterpillar, I think. John

Forklift at the plant has a Perkins in it. Most of the diesel Series Rovers are Perkins from I understand. Just not a common vehicle engine in the US.

Made a lot of vehicle engines, just not many in the US. Good engines, but parts are expen$ive and can be hard to get. Dave at S&W Diesel Service in Wilmington, CA knows these engines well and has parts.

Common to find Perkins in boats. I think John is right about Cat owning them right now. Even Cummins owned Perkins at one time.

Not as rare as you might think. Buddy has a six cylinder turbo in a jeep pickup that will go over mountain passes pulling a large trailer at 70mph...

"out of a 2003 or 2004 cat skid steer 2.216 cu nice for small 4x4 or for power supply or if you have a skid steer that needs a motor have spare parts whith it"

I found it on Criagslist, it's 1,000 obo.
I'd be interested but am new to diesels.

Too small for a wagon. The smallest B series was almost 3L and my 3B in my BJ60 is 3.4L which is probably the smallest old style non turbo I would consider. Toyota used 2L but that was in mini trucks.

Check the diesel forum. Lots of knowledge there.

The T4.236 (3.9 liter turbodiesel) is rated at 106 HP. It is used in vehicular applications.

I have one of these in an airport tug I will be turning into a moose buggy. I will likely replace it with a 6.354 that I will turbo (factory rated at 165-280 hp depending on how it is set up) and move the T4.236 into one of my '40s.

Some diesels used in mazda trucks and buses here are a perkins designed engines. 3.5 litres and 4 litres from memory, with a ten speed gearbox behind. would go nice in a cruiser with a divorced transfer.

Not sure what power they make but they get along ok, and the ten speed makes it easier to drive on hills.

I doubt that you would be happy with this motor in a '60 for road and trail use. I think this is a normally aspirated diesel, and it is rated at a peak 50hp at 2800 rpm.

Perkins has made diesels for construction industry and the like for a long time. Not very many newer high horse engines in the US, though. Watch out for older Perkins with pre-chamber heads, as the chambers crack and aren't too easy to find. They are British engines, though, so they are required to leave a puddle in your driveway.
