Where the glaciers stopped.
I have a built in tool box that is level with my rear seats when they are folded down creating a flat surface to sleep on. Is there a Thermarest-type sleeping pad that will cover an area ~55" wide X 75" long? I do not want a regular air mattress that is eight or nine inches thick; there is not that much height available. With something that thick it would be difficult to move around inside the truck. I have found Down Mats from Outdoor Research which are the right idea, but I need to get two of those to cover the whole sleeping area, and I really want one pad that covers the whole space for my wife and I. The Thermarest Dreamtime is also the right type of pad, but they only come single - no doubleish sizes that I can find. I appreciate your input.

I have heard the Dreamtime is an excellent pad...and it sure looks like it when I looked at them at REI. You'd think they would make one that is double wide...seems to be a market for it at least.

OR also makes a foam filled Airmat that are much more reasonably priced for your application, $79-99.00.

Buy two and they also sell a Coupler, two long velcro straps that wrap around the mats to essentially make them one. Works swell for wife and I on camping trips.

I purchased one at REI. IIRC it's about 3" tall and fits into one side of the cruiser as I've got the fridge on the other side. $85 I think.

Also...I don't know if the newer Thermarest's have addressed this but the nylon they use is a little slippery especially if you are on uneven ground. Another advantage of the Dreamtime...

I'm not sure how big a fella you are, but I really lilke my Therm-a-rest Prolite 4 - Large. I think they are 25"x75" long and if you get two, they have a strap system that holds them together. I'm 6'4" and 190 lbs and I use mine all the time. I also backpack so it works for both hobbies.

I have a 4 inch thick queen size air mattress that has a power inflater. It's really nice in the summer and spring months, but in the cold weather, the air is cold and causes you to freeze at night unless you have some barrier between.

Earth mat's are another alternative to Thermarest, they have a zip down the side and you can zip 2 mats together

Cabelas sleeping pad

For about $129 (on sale now) - they have a double wide 3" thick self inflator that is 54" wide.

Hope Santa knows I got my eye on this one now that my drawers are installed and I have a big sleeping area to cover. :grinpimp:
