I have had a few conversations about a trip to Penrose recently so I figure I would put down a date and see what happens.

How about April 21st to run the trails in Penrose.

I'm planning on running Indy and Liberty at this time anyway.

Post up your ideas and lets get going.:steer:

Not my thing but I am glad we're getting some trail run discussion going. So here's a thread bump to the top ;)

I'll update the webpage calendar. Chuck, what time and where will you be meeting South?

I talked to Mike and he will be bringing his Bronco. Should be a good trip. I need to checkout the trailer since it hasn't been used since last summer. I think I will pull the cruiser down behind the motor home just in case we have a longer than expected day/night.

This is a great place to watch rigs run some ruff looking rocks so even if you don't plan on running these trails it would be a good spectator/picnic lunch run.

Lets meet at the South meeting location at 7:30am leaving at 8:00am on April 21st.

The South meeting location is the Safeway on Nevada and Cheyenne Rd.

That will put us at the trail head about 9:30 - 10:00am. Its not that far to Penrose from the meeting location but you know it always takes longer with a group.

ok, if every thing works out correctly I will plan on spending Saturday night camping in Penrose after running the trails Saturday. Please post up if you are planning on camping.

Here is a picture of the Cruiser on Liberty.

Not gonna happen for me! :-( Grad parties are just around the corner and the yard is not ready. Gotta do my domestic duties but I'll be thinking of your fine folks playing in the rocks and camping.....I'll be there in spirit!

I'm going to come and watch!

We ran down Liberty and then up Indy. Mike and I both had to winch into Indy. I blew a bead on the exit of Indy and had to winch out. Mike drove out.

So where is the trail? ;) Looks like you guys had a good time.

After we grilled elk steaks Trevor talked us into running down Freedom and then up Patriot. It was dark, real dark! I blew a second bead at the bottom of Patriot. We drove through Pariot and the exit without winching. No pictures of the night run.

Wish I could have gone! Thought about you guys all day! So you are calling"Indy" the first part of the trail that you drop into that leads to Bunker Hill? I have never tried to go backwards up Bunker Hill....bet that was fun!

The trail marker for that trail says Independence Trail. Yes we went up bunker hill when the sun was out and then we went down it in the dark when we went down Freedom and up Patriot.

I'm going say that I think Indy is harder than Patriot since I used the winch twice on Indy but drove Patriot without using a winch. Trevor was our spotter on Patriot so maybe that's what made the difference?
