parts identification- is this a PTO lever?

Does anyone know what this part is? I was told it was part of a PTO unit. I thought the levers were much shorter though.

Without a scale pic isn't all that useful. Knob looks wrong from what I remember. Old parts are often modified - look and see if a piece has been welded in the lengthen the shaft.

its about 3 feet long. it has push button which slides an internal shaft

Maybe a three speed column shift control shaft? Hard to tell from your pic.

Its a 3 on the tree shaft and shifter. Just installed one a few months ago. looks to be missing a couple of parts.
