Thanks woody. It's particularly bad for me today too. Very intermittent problem, not too bad lately, in fact this week I've got smileys and tag buttons working again for some reason. Partial pages big time today though. meh. I'll deal with it.

Still no problems at home with the exact same model of computer and software versions.

same ISP yooper?

I'm on RoadRunner at home, comcast at a friends, and businessDSL at work....all react a bit different to the site, but none seem to show the problems.

and, identical loads of antivirus stuff too? I'm running 4 different ones between the two at home, my friends, and at work....the stuff provided by rr.com seems the most aggressive and causes the most oddities, but I seem to have "switched" a few firewall settings to solve the odditiy I had. (my friends comcast setup also had oddities...specifically, blocking the banner ads and some other stuff)

switched an admin setting so it emails me on any db issues, partial or otherwise....I'll see if that generates anything worthwhile...

Finally...

Finally something that might help with this problem. I have actually been surfing the last few days not signed in (80% not, 20% logged in) and until a few minutes ago was trouble free. Then I got the error message below. I don't know if it's related to the ongoing issue but it is certainly something tangible this time.

Oh, I forgot to add that I needed to go over to IE to add the pic. That and I can't use any buttons/smilies with FF. Still have all the same problems with IE 7.0 but I don't usually use it.

buttons not working when in advanced reply mode - no smileys , still loading gibberish on occasion

I guess that iPhone announcement was just too much...

Safari 2.0.4 - OSX 10.4.8

Mac still does some odd things with the forum....specifically with the AdvReply stuff...vB hasn't offered a solution as of yet...

Finally got my sh*t together and reformatted my HD. Reinstalled FF 2.0 and same thing, still see gibberish. No issues so far with IE 7.0. I'd really hate to have to live with it or worse yet use FF only at work. Any ideas that might point me to settings that need to be addressed?

I'm in the same boat. Works fine at school, not at home. Same computer even; just different wireless. I'll bet I won't even get any formatting in this post. :(
Ok, got my problem 100% diagnosed: It's my Netgear router. If I plug right into the Clearwire receiver, everything's fine.Anyone know whether this is something I can complain about or fix somehow?Curtis

Dam! I hadn't thought of that but I too have a Netgear router. I have trouble regardless of wired or wireless. Not to get off topic (it may not be in the end) but does your antivirus/spyware flag your router as a worm?

X2^^ its been doing it for atleast 2 weeks, Sometimes i have to reload the same page three or four times cause it just partial loading. Do all you have macs?

nope, I have a Dell Inspiron laptop.

BC, are you using a Netgear router?

Yea i do have a Netgear router. So is that the problem? I have a Compaq, just sounded like alot of you guys have macs. Is there anyway to fix it???

It's a possibility, but it sure would be nice if some of the others would pipe back up and fill us in on their setup.

No, my router doesn't get flagged.

BTW, I'm on a Dell Latitude laptop, circa 2002-03.

To re-iterate:

I'm a computing idiot, but:

If I sit right next to my Clearwire wireless receiver and plug the laptop into it (the computer treats it as a LAN connection), everything's fine. At work through the University's wireless network, everything's fine. But if I'm somewhere around the house using the router, that's when I've got troubles.

I have gotten to where using the router is bearable by using Crap Cleaner to delete everything, then logging in to MUD without the router and letting the cookies load that way. Then when I go back to the router, everything (smilies etc.) is pretty much ok, except that every once in a while a page won't load correctly and I have to refresh it.

That's all I got. Good luck,

Curtis

I've been running w/o my netgear router and don't have any issues. I'll have to hook it back up and start playing with the settings. Prolly won't happen until after Moab but I'll post up what works.
