Does anyone know if the parking brake from an 81 4wd pickup will work on an 85 4runner? The truck is a long bed but I figured the length of the main cable really didn't matter if everything else matched up! Thank for the help!

I'm not as familiar with the earlier gen trucks but I don't think it will work. There should be 2 cables, which one do you need? The front cable in the 4Runner should be shorter since it is a SWB truck but a long bed is LWB.
I'm not sure what he's asking.... are you asking if the parking brake shoes and mechanisms are compatible or is the cables are the same? Like KLF says the cables are most likely not going to be the same length.

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering if the brake shoes and mechanisms are compatible. I figured the cable may be longer being that it is LWB. I used to have a website with parts diagrams but I haven't been able to find it, does anyone know what the website may be?
