Hey guys ever since ive bought my hilux the parking brake hasnt worked. I routed the problem down to the levers on the drum were hitting the leaf springs. I have a few ideas on how to solve this, like raising the "T" point of the cables so that the increase in the angle of the cable would allow it to slide over, or fab up some kind of pulley system close to the levers to have the same effect as the "T" raise. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas???

Thanks

Hmmm.. then the springs must be really thick. Do you know what brand they are?

I think if it were me, I'd pull the bell cranks (the levers) off the backing plates, make them a little longer by welding a piece on them. This would give you a good opportunity to grease the pivot pins that tend to rust solid.

It looks cold there...
