I am debating whether I want to spend money on some paint work for my 97. Clear is cloudy on:
1. Hood
2. Top sections of front fenders (also fenders have score lines from hardened flare gaskets)
3. All 4 factory flares have lost clear and are faded

I've taken bumpers and flares off already in prep. I got an estimate to paint all above and blend front fenders into front doors for $1900

Can't say I was surprised from what I have read and researched. Good paint work not cheap.

Does this $ seem about right? Anybody have any suggestions for shops or guys to get a 2nd or 3rd estimate? I in Phx area. Would prefer not going to far east, but for right work/price I might :)

There's a great paint place that does some amazing Arizona Pin Striping! Take a left off the 87 to Sycamore Creek, go down about 12 miles of dirt, cacti, brush and...

I do plasti-dip the fenders black every year or so--the stuff is awesome, I just spray over and Walaaah, looks sharp.

1900 seems pretty mid ground price. I was quoted 7k to paint my wife's old outback station wagon (whole car)
I know macco will do a slam job for half the price that you were quoted, but you get what you pay for.

Yes $1900 not TOO crazy, spent $2100 having outside of my rear tub sprayed..................

I would lean for the highest quality polyurethane (aircraft grade) and stay away from the base coat/top clear coat. Top clear coats suck in Az. Yes, they all go south here over time, but wax will bring one back, the other peels after scratched like a sunburn and looks like crap.
