I had the same issues a couple of years ago. I tried sealing between the cats. I didnt have any leaks at the Y. Ended up replacing the rear cat with a new OE cat and that solved it. What surprised me was Toyota had no core charge on the new cat! So I got 125 bucks for my old one at the recycler which brought my price down to around 300 bucks!

90917-06043. The 06076 is behind the second cat. Check that joint as well since it's upstream of the rear sensor.

You want to be sure there are NO leaks in between the sensors.
@cruiserdan on the exhaust diagram of the FZJ80 it lists 17451 as the gasket between the cats as well as behind the second cat - are those gaskets indeed the same? I have a leak between the two cats and am after 90917-06043, correct?

Holly thread revival.

The 17451 notation you see in an illustration is not a part number. It is a part-name-code that directs you to the catalog text where the part numbers are listed by application. The front and rear gaskets are different diameters.

90917-06043 is the correct original part number for the gasket in between the front and rear cats. It has been superseded to 17451-52060.

If you try to order a 90917-06043 you will receive a 17451-52060. The new number is the current correct number.

The 90917-06076 has not changed, it is still the correct number for the back end of the second cat.
