It can be done just know that the tape deck isn't a straight shot out. You'll need to either bend or weld your plate.
Gotcha, thanks!

I made a phone holder as well using nnnnate's write up. It works really well and best of all it makes use of the obsolete tape deck. Kudos to Owl Expedition for making this available to Mud members. The 35 or 45 he is charging (cant remember his price and I'm on my phone) is a great deal, especially considering you need to incorporate a small rise off the plate and out the tape deck opening.

Opening up the front console and getting to the tape deck is a little invasive but it's not that difficult. I'd only caution about hanging or levering too much weight off the tape deck mount. The screws and mounting posts that hold it in place are tiny. When I add my tablet to my setup, I am going to support everything with another attachment point, likely the seat rail....

Thanks for the praise. One thing about my design is it rests on the lip of the deck, and takes a lot of the stress off of the small posts/screws and instead rests the weight on the metal frame of the take deck.

I just spent all weekend bouncing around all the trails at HIH with the tablet and cb mounted. I wouldn't hesitate to mount a second tablet. It's a rock solid design.

PM's sent to the first 5. I look forward to getting feedback from you guys!

It seems there is decent enough interest so I will be placing an order with the laser cutter late next week after we close on the house and I'm allowed to spend money again. Hang tight!

I would like one,

Pm me details.

Nice work. I wonder if this would fit the wife's 2001 RX300. It's NAV has made improving the AV experience impossible.

Does the tape deck look the same as the 03+ LC/LX one? It's hard to say what eles this would fit since it actually screws into the deck, as opposed to a universal fit. I'd rather a universal fit, but there would be no way to get the strength.

I'll definitely be getting these laser cut since the interest is there.

I'm really, really hoping that by the end of August I will have my website going and will have these and the puddle lights in stock to purchase. Maybe a few other goodies too.

I'm in for a mount. Add me to your list- thanks

It looks pretty close, I'd make it work. :p Put me down for 1.

Directions are posted at the bottom of the first post.

Still waiting on the last two of the five. I'll send them out as soon as I get payment from them.

Thanks for all the interest!

I just fitted the plate in to my 2006 100 Series - unfortunately a little more annoying than on the earlier (or Lexus?) vehicles.

First the left and right vents are removed, then the four screws holding in the dash unit (which comes out in one piece - display, buttons, cassette, etc.). Then more screws to remove the frame pieces and finally four screws holding the cassette deck in the fascia. The plate itself fits fine. I could grab some photos if anyone would like to see, it's straightforward though, just need to follow your nose. Putting it back in can wait for another night :)

Can you check the directions in the first post and see if your install was different? Thanks for the feedback! Can't wait to see how you set it all up.
