What to Bring: GAS, Camera, GAS, Cool weather gear (layers), GAS, water, GAS, food, GAS, camping gear, GAS, recovery gear, GAS, HAM radio.... and GAS!
Frequencies: 146.460 alt 146.052 - I highly recommend an installed mobile 2m ham radio for this trip. Handhelds just don't have the power and range if we get spread out or separated. Do this even if you do not have your license yet. At the very least you can listen in to the trial team's conversations and anyone can use ham in an emergency. I also recommend a Garmin InReach for emergency communications.

Program the Black Rock Desert repeaters into your radio before you go. You'll need a dual-band (2m/70cm) or 2nd radio to hit the main repeater on 440.175. We may hold an impromptu HAM JAM to help everyone get set up properly before the trip.

Details
See details from the 2021 trip. This is a big multi-day trip! 168 miles almost all offroad. The route is designed in such a way as to allow people to join up with the group each day in the event they are unable to get the Thurs, Friday, or Monday off or have other commitments that will not allow them to stay for the entire trip. Some members of Toyotally Awesome Cruisers may join us for this adventure.

Fuel pumps are only available at the start and end of the trip, so you'll need to bring what you think you'll need. Those who have larger vehicles and can carry a few extra cans should do so to help others out in a pinch.

These are the tracks from the 2021 trip. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4. You can view and add them to Gaia or download them in gpx, kml, or geojson file formats for your navigation system of choice.
