I spent the weekend at Overland Expo West and had a chance to speak with many many informative vendors and 200 owners.

here are a couple of the highlights:

talked with Magnuson superchargers and they are working on getting the allocation of time and technicians to build a tune specific to the 200 ECU.
they have had mixed results using the Unichip...;-(
i passed on the links to this forum and the LCDC website for the rep to use in the pitch to managment. we are an under-represented crowd.

There was a black 200 on 37s!

Rubicon Expedition Products had their hitch tent on the back of a 200 propped up on a maintenance ramp, just to show that you could deploy and stow the tent even if the vehicle wasn't level.

To clear the bigger tires each fender was trimmed back and the edge rolled.

Driver's side rear fender, cut almost 3"

Overland dad had his 200 there with the dissent front bumper and a custom DIY drawer system. everything was top notch. beautiful truck.
if you're on Instagram go follow his page. Really cool stuff going on this week with lightforce.

Maltec was there with a couple 80 series frames hidden beneath 70 series bodies, and their fully built luxury roaming 200.

Rhino adventure gear had thier 200 built up with the tundra conversion.

there were a few others, including this basic rig out in the camping area

That's all the pics you got of the 200 on 37s?! They chose kind of a weird tire and wheel combo for that truck, and I'm confused on the trimming. They trimmed the body but not the sliders? My buddy has 37s on his LX and didn't need to trim the rear at all even at full stuff:

That Rubicon Expedition hitch mount is interesting. I like that it solves the issue of having to pack up your RTT just to take the truck out. I'm not sure though about having all that weight on the hitch, not being able to access the trunk, reduced departure angle etc... The marketing is to get the weight off the roof. Looks like they moved RTT weight to the rear, and still have weight up top with other stuff. Technically if you wanted you could add a hitch basket and add that stuff that's on the roof to the rear. I dunno... $1200 tent not included. The tent they use in their marketing looks pretty small too, wonder what a larger 4-person or hard-shell would look like stuck on the back of the rig!

The idea is...odd...for all those reasons you mentioned. It literally looks like they just moved the RTT to the hitch and bolted legs onto it (pic below shows a normal RTT ladder), and I can't imagine it's easy to move into position or get the whole contraption back onto the truck. With the horrible departure angle and weight shifted to the rear like it is with the tent in place, it severely limits how far off road you can get. The "problem" their trying to solve of getting weight off the roof (people say it makes wheeling more tippy with all the weight up top - no personal experience tho) seems like it creates a bigger problem by making a not great departure truly terrible. I can see a lot of expensive damage happening to that tent dropping off even a small ledge with the 6k+ pound truck dictating where it goes.

That is a nice setup on 37's ... !

Fo sho. Hey hopefully at a minimum they can write off their hobby 😂.

Awww man...

I was cutting my fenders exactly the same way to fit 37s! Thought I would be the first, guess not.

Looks like now I have to go 40s just be cool.

You won't do it 😜

That low offset isn’t doing them any favors

Seems odd. Just buy a ground tent if you want a ground tent. It's like buying a Tesla and dropping in an LS. Kinda defeats the purpose of buying the original item to begin with. Get an OzTent and not have a goofy ass "RTT" hanging the back of your rig. Just my opinion I guess....

That would be worth it just for the lulz -- a great way to piss off unbearable people. Kind of like this:

The owner's brother is a member of a Rolls Royce club in Australia. So the owner commissioned that Rolls Royce restomod (complete with LS motor) primarily so that he could go to a Rolls Royce concours event and piss people off, including (or perhaps especially) his own brother.

"Unbearable people..."? 🤔

I was there helping out at the METAL TECH 4X4 tent . I talked to some one cat remember the name . the vent was huge and packed sat . great event !!!

So many 200s there! I talked to Delta Vehicle Systems about a 200 rear bumper. They're pretty involved in the 80 series community. Anyways, they gotta work on the 100 rear first and then then 200. ETA a year at least but their modular setup and their ability to swap swing arms is appealing to me.

So true. That was a major shift this year! There were maybe a couple 200’s on display last year, but this year 200’s seemed to be all over the place! Also was amazed what a huge presence various Toyota offerings had.

I didn’t buy a single thing...but my 80-year-old uncle ended up buying this crazy little1974 Pinzgauer :

Not to be a hater, but I looked closer at the picture posted above.

That’s a hack job, wavy cuts, you can see where they cut the wrong line, then made a new one.

Also, trim down the metal tech rails for god sakes! Obviously you don’t need to cut the fenders back that far if the tires are not hitting standard length rails.

Sorry guys, this comes from college days where fitting massive tires was pretty easy for rednecks. The real talent was making the body still look good.

This is pretty awesome. When I was in high school we had a 1959 Bentley S1. It had lots of issues. I'd love to drive that '58 Rolls. :)
