Just an FYI. I have been getting my Powertank refilled at the local dry ice place. They charged $10 for a complete fill...which is 1/2 what the welding shops charge around here. After many refills over the past 18-months I returned for another fill er up. The guy that took my tank this time could not speak any english...and I can't speak spanish...but never thought any different until I realized the next day all the CO2 had leaked out; apparently due to the high pressure valve letting go. I thought their price per pound went up...because he charged me $15...but what really happened is he put about 5lbs more CO2 in the tank than it needed/designed to handle. I guess he couldn't read the label on the side of my tank that states it weighs 16lbs. EMPTY.

Took it to a fire extuinguisher place to have it checked out...they seem to have a much more solid technical background with regard to their employees ;) ...and they had to test the tank, per gov regs, since the pressure relief had blown. So it cost me $30 to find out the tank was fine...and $2 for a new pressure relief valve plus $15 to fill (worth $5 more for peace of mind!).

Anyway just warning others that may be using a CO2 source that might not employ the 'sharpest knives' in the drawer so to speak!

Wow. I have really been going to the wrong place. I have been using the fire extinguisher place across from Samco and they have been charging about 40.00 bucks a fill.

thanks for the info

That's the same place that charged me $15.00 for my 10# tank fill...and told me it would be $15 per fill the next time too!

There is no such thing as cheep gas or gas service.
Thats lame that things like that happen, good thing for relief valves.
Glad no one got hurt.
