I have a house rented there at the end of August, but since I am flying in from the left coast, the only four wheeling I'll get to do is in my brother's jeep, unless I can talk my Dad into lending me his FJC or L/C (are you reading this right now, Gaylon Sr? :) ) . For driving on the beach, you'll be fine if you air down (I get down to 15) and carry a pull strap so someone can give you a tug, if needed. Have a blast!

Just wanted to thank everybody.
My brothers and I had a great time. Stock 2015 200 series with rock warrior 17 and Bridgestone KO tires aired down to 25 did great. I drove about 20 to 25mph in the soft sand in 4 LO and never had a problem.

Some of the back roads were flooded and pools of rain water were deep. I lost my front license plate on the deep dip. :)

Here is a video my brother made of the stay. 1:31 to 1:56 shows land cruiser in 4 LO

I recently moved to Knoxville and looking forward to taking the family for a beach trip to the Outer Banks in March(Spring break). Where would you recommend for a more secluded parking spot(away from homes) on the beach. Really looking forward to driving on the beach and setting up day camp. If not secluded, any recommendations for best swimming”nicest” areas for families. Thanks

I will definitely have a set of Maxtrax on hand

We have been to Corolla 4x4 beach multiple times over the years with both 100 and 200 series. Never a problem as long as you air down. Just don’t stop and do that where the pavement ends as it can be dangerous with vehicles coming and going. Horse spotting has been hit or miss but if you are patient you will find them. Also take a trip all the way to the border fence if you have the time. Have fun!

Always fun to see people in crossovers and mini vans try and make it through the deep stuff. A lot of folks out there willing to pull you out.

We will have lots of time when we go out, so we’ll drive down to the border fence.
