What a weekend! While there may not have been too many of us, (Total of 9 trucks for the weekend), the wheeling was great, the weather was perfect, and the people were awesome. Coal Creek is HUGE, and we didn't even come close to covering it all. I missed Friday wheelin', but on Saturday, we had a full day of wheeling. I'll need someone who was looking at the map to verify the trail numbers, but I know we ran 2, 3, 16, as well as some gravel roads. Our group of 8 truck rode well together, and got through almost unscathed, until there was a bent wheel and 2 twisted steering sector shafts on the 80s on trail 16. Nothing severe enough to stop us from continuing on.

Sunday saw a few of us go out for a few quick trails before heading home. We did manage to get Drew's 80 up somewhere we didn't think an 80 would fit and came out unscathed. It was very cool, too bad Jason and I were too busy spotting to take pics...

By the way, I would like to thank all those who came and made this a great event. We had a good mix of people, a lot of 80's, and plenty of fun. Maybe we'll get more people again next year...

I didn't have a camera, so here are a few pics from my phone. Hopefully Landtank and Landtank JR will post their pics...

This pic doesn't do justice to the trail, or to the size of the rock on either side of Drew's 80...

Mucho manejando

whew..... lots of :steer: and lots of fun too.

 to all the folks that had a hand in making this one happen and to those that showed up for a good time.

Had a great time wheeling and just as much fun hanging out with new and familiar folks alike. Roger we all owe you for a great breakfast as well as the pot of chili for dinner as well saturday to round out a great day on the trail. David, thanks for organizing the run and bringin the requisite rotel. And a big kudos to Rick and Mike for making the long haul; hope you guys are resting well in PA and have a safe trip back tomorrow, cant wait to see the pics.

Friday, Goody (andy) led our small group of 4 trucks around trail 22, trail 3, gravel 2 down to trail 2 and out. Nice and easy intro to whats available and a the finale was the land cruiser luge run down a muddy trail 2.

Saturday, we ran 22, to gravel, then around to trail 5 (snoozer) and then on to 3 again and then 4 to the gravel 1 road all the way around to trail 16 (the only difficult run we made). After much heckling and a lil high intensity peer pressure i took a run at the climb at the top of 3 and made it :bounce: A full day of wheeling and ending with the hard one as concentration was dwindling might have led to some of the carnage. Two sector shafts, a steely, 3 beers :D, and some various paint and metal shavings. Luckily Todd managed to keep his load bars attached on the tightest trail of the day.

Sunday David, Drew and I took off to get in a lil more action and ran with the other andy (chattfj40??? blue 40) and some of his and his passengers buddies. Turns out they were in decently built jeeps and think they lured the us wagons along just for entertainment. But lest we dissapoint i think we all did good getting up 15 to the base of 38 (Rattle Rock) which was a rediculous 30 degree climb on nothing but a boulder feild. It didnt take long for us to realize that wasnt the place to spend our sunday. Not being able to leave well enough alone i finally claimed my damage today as i slid off an 80 sized rock and tweaked the ARB and destroyed the mount to the AC dryer, but not the dryer itself. Also caught a rock in the door at the entrance to 15

Great to meet everyone and their pups as well, it really was a great turnout.

turns out theres a whole nother northern half of the mountain we didnt even look at the trail system on. Theres always next time; and I got my eyes on trail 12 already.

I have no idea what im doing either, and no that pic doesnt do justice to the trail, the grade, or that rock :D

thats the same spot roger and drew piloted. Both pulled cable but not till the top and most impressive is Drew proving what we both had thought all along...... an 80 WILL fit through there!
