Ok local guys, what other 4x4's have you had in the past? I know some of you have had quite an extensive list of cruisers and other 4x4. I am only on my second cruiser and I don’t even know if the other should count because it never ran.
My short list (in order of ownership):
1955 M38-A1 – very nice condition, no rust, low mileage, all original, 24V, under water package, previously owned by a fire department. This was in the mid 80’s (I’m old) when I was trying to find a FJ-40 at the time.
1979 K-5 Blazer – a little rusty, 38 inch swampers. Traded it for a basket case Harley (double mistake made here).
1993 FZJ80 – still have it, trying to make it an expedition vehicle (slow going…).
1981 CJ-7 – decent condition, mostly stock.
1949 CJ-2A – ran good, but never had a title.
1969 FJ-40 – Never ran, F motor came separate. Sold it to another old man that did something with it…
1986 Sami – still have it, great little runner.
Later I should be able to add an ’86 4-runner, but it has been delayed due to lack of sufficient funds.
I have wheeled all of them except for the 40 and not so much with the 2A except for in a field (no trailer), some of them wheeled harder than others. All of them except the last three were driven a lot on the street as daily drivers.
