The friends that I wheel with have been opening and closing upper coyote canyon every year for 10 years plus. I made it last year for the closing and this year for the opening. I invited Mike for the experience and he survived his initiation, albeit with some scars to show off.

Seriously that is some funny s***. Those guys look like a riot to wheel with. I was laughing my ass off when they all start moving and saying at the same time, "photo op.... photo op...", classic s*** right there.

lol What Tare said.

Careful posting this around Derrick, you especially walking in front of the winch line will draw many comments on recovery/winching techniques and how everyone always has something to say even if they weren't there and understand the facts.

By the way, Man after my own heart... I dig the flip flops on the trail :D

I hear ya Dave, that does look kinda bad. Just for clarification, the slack in the line was taken up but there was not much tension. I moved when he was ready to pull Mike out. Very good to point that out though, safety should always come first!

Classic! My favorite quotes......

"I'm going to get a Range Rover, bring out here and beat the $*** out of it"

"There are more cameras than help out here"

Wheeling with these guys really is a blast. Very knowledgeable, can and will fix anything and they tread lightly. Thanks again for the invite Derrick.

I'm trying to post pics of Derricks CLEAN run at this spot, but am missing a "security certificate?" He literally walked right up it. I think that's why I was a bit over confident.

This place is as hardcore as you want it to be, there is a bypass for just about every obstacle - at least were we went.

that is freakin hilarious!! looks like a place worth checking out!

A Few Pictures Of The Same Obstacle
