Anyway, these multi-reflector ones do not say "DOT" or "SAE", but the Euro ones that I've posted below (Post #2, first pic) say both of them, as well as having the "E-code" on them (Post #4, second and third pics; at least that's what I think the "E6" in the circle means:

Also, do those European headlights connect properly with my Japanese spec ones? I.E: Any re-soldering or re wiring? And finally do the European spec headlights say DOT/SAE on the front?
My headlights are still the JDM ones. I am trying to track down a more cost effective alternative.

Finally took it out for a spin again just a few minutes ago.
Now that I'm used to it, if I have everything ready (which is not much) I can get the grille, corner markers, front blinkers, and the headlights off (and back on) in less than 30 min., a little quicker if I hurried.
It was a plug-and-play.
The H4 low/high connectors swap over straight across and the you "should" have the H1 harness/socket wrapped together in a bundle with the H3 (inner) fog harness/socket like mine did.
The front of the Euro lights only have the E-code on it.
It may not matter to you, but the back of it, as you can see in the Post #2 in the Euro lights thread says "SAE HR89(?)" and "DOT" on it/them. But that might be just for the back cover/housing and not for the entire assembly/lense. I guess you can't really show that part to the police nor an inspector if you had to prove that they were there.

Not sure when they changed it but my Depo headlights have a glass lens on them. Also found this website with a good tutorial on aiming and the different light outputs of E code vs. DOT spec headlights.

I'm a headlight geek & your side by-side pics help out a ton. I'm only running a Slee relay harness & Silverstars right now, but I'm itching to do an upgrade - cost on Euros was too high a few years ago, might have to re-check into pricing & bang for the buck upgrades now available.

Yeah, I think you're right.
The DEPO's lense is glass (My bad!

I'm glad that I can be of some usefulness to someone.
I think the best bang for the buck probably to go with one of the aftermarket units that you see in the 80's section (e-bay projector ones with HID or the DEPO ones shown by treeroot and also gone HID).
There are also some that have just put in the HID's in their stock housings, but generally that is not recommended, as I'm sure you already know!
