Anyone know what kind of damage is caused by driving with one hub locked and one free? While driving down the freeway I felt like I had a flat tire, I limped it home and discovered that one hub was locked and one was free. I have no idea how one got locked! Ideas? 94 Toyota 4X4.

94 has ADD, so if the drivers side hub was turned, only the cv axle would be moving. and if it was the passenger side, only the cv axle and spiders would turn.

i imagine that with the mometum of the spiders turning the ring gear would turn somewhat, which would be a good thing, compared to not turning at all. as the ring gear turns, it would pick up oil and lube the spiders.

i think you shoud drain and fill the diff.
