I have 33 X 12.5 X 15 BFG A/Ts and the medium/heavy Dakar lift. 2.5 in the front and 3 in the back is what the height is supposed to be. Seems about right to me. I took it out and got it dirty this weekend (just mud holes) and didn't get any rub. I had 32X11.5 MTRs before and I would say I thought they looked a little small. They were almost completely bald though for what that is worth. I think the 33s look and drive perfect with the OME lift.

So you won't have any trouble at all with 32s. Some guys are running 32s with no lift. Not sure how that is working out for them though.

ONe thing no one has mentioned is the job will be much less of a PITA if you have air tools. I don't think I would have ever got mine done without air tools, penetrating blaster (about 4 cans), and the grinder. I also did the majority of the job alone.

You mentioned lean. Make sure the taller spring pack goes on the driver's side. Otherwise you are going to have a lean to the passenger side.

I will take some garaged lean pics this week. My rig is parked right now awaiting a intake/exhaust manifold gasket swap. I am going to order the kit while that work is in progress, but my old lady has me be doing home repairs awaiting a visit of her parents. I am sure you guys don't want pics of my retiled bathroom, but it is looking sweet.

I wish I could dive back into the garage. It is much more peaceful in there. I just recently swapped my radiator and updated all my cooling system parts. Repainted everything I could take off the thing. I will take a pic of that to show it off. It was my first uncosmetic upgrade to my rig since I bought it and being a novice mechanic I am awfully proud.

Sounds like that PB Blaster stuff is great. I will have to go get a case of that stuff as much as it sounds like I need it for the all my cruiser projects.

Regarding the PB blaster:
I have had one can for about 2 years. Unless your throwing crack head parties in your garage a little dab will do ya'. Going through many cans in a single job means 2 things... you don't have a saw and you now have dain bramage.

Good luck with the tile. We can swap pics there too. I just put in about 600 sqft of porcelin Daltile in the kitchen and foyer. It is sooooooo sweet. I'm thinking of tiling the floor of the truck!

Whats the matter with PB blaster? I spray a little on before class to attract women. :)

Hokie, good luck with the purchase, and let us see some progress pictures.

For the record, 33s will not rub--even 12.50s--with an OME lift.

We (FJKai) went with the heavy Dakar kit as per David's suggestion. I think the lift will be 2" with the kit. We wanted between 3" and 4" of lift and thought the Dakar kit would get us close to 3". David said to go with 1.5" over shackles to get us a good ride height with 33's. We didn't want to go over 4" and were taking David's word on this one. All said and done we got about 3.5" with the Dakar's and the 1.5" over shackles. You could run 33's with the Dakar lift but you might rub if you went with anything wider than a 10.5 tire. Personally I think the 1.5" over shackles and the kit fit 33's perfectly. I would say just the kit and the shackles that come with it would be perfect for 31's.

The install was easy. The hardest part is getting your old stuff off. Get the Toyota Service Manual and follow the directions and it actually should be fun.

I have the medium duty OME 2" lift kit with new shocks/shackles and it clears my 33x12.5" tires easily. Make sure the backspacing is correct on the new wheels to clear the steering knuckle.

I have had my PB Blaster can for a few years as well. Spray the bolts... let it sit 20-30 minutes and go at it with an air tool (impact gun on the stubborn bolts.... or ratchet/socket attack with a cheater bar to make them budge. I live 1 block from the beach and it is always foggy. Corrosion here is pretty bad as well.

So it looks like the dakkar kit is the way to go. Maybe I'll have enough dough to buy a kit.

You can shave a 100$ or so off the kit price if you go with non-OME greasable shackles and pins as well as a different U-bolt kit. After-all those parts aren't proprietary to OME just convenient to get it all in one package.
