I have been looking at the dual rate springs that OME has for a 100 series the 866. The chart has the dual rate at 240/300 & a free height of 18.3" which is .6" shorter than a 860 spring @ 18.9/19.3 inches. I also see the 865 as a good way to remove the stink bug & give a true 2" lift. The only problem I see is the free height might not allow to run the longer L shocks due to releasing the spring at full extension. The shorter standard shocks will need to be in the rear.

Has anyone tried these springs on a 80?

A little stink bug(1") before my swingdown creation and Stainless rack.....After it was almost level

So my experience thus far(4k) is that they were a little soft with an unloaded wagon in full stink mode. Once loaded with 250-350lbs they were perfect for trail and medium difficulty "almost trail" stuff. This is a DD and is great on the highway and around town. After I put the swingdown and rack on it was almost level and much better for all around use; although it was not originally bad by any stretch. I am happy with them-

and a footnote- they are stiff, very stiff when the truck is fully loaded with lets say 3 people a dog, top rack full and platform, all acamping gear present. But still level!

As I was searching for OME 866 here on mud I came across a gentlemen on mud that goes by @ColoradoFJ40 He shared that he has a set of 865 rears on his Lx450 that sit level wit a 851 front spring. Here is a quote:

"I think it was a good combination. I called Slee offroad to get some advice and told them what I would be using my 80 for and that is what Christo recommended. Currently I do not haul a lot or have a RTT and it sits level. No stink bug at all. In the future it I start packing more weight on it might be too soft in the rear, but for now its perfect."

After with 851/865 & 285 Duratracs.

I believe the 866 or 865 would be a good choice if you want a true 2" lift with out a stinkbug look. The reason I post this is when I got my OME medium lift 851/860 it lifted my Lexi 2" in front & 3.5" in the rear. I even added a couple friends on the tail gate & me (about 400 pounds) it only went down 1". I had to put a 1" spacer in front to make it sit better. That made it a 3" lift not a 2.5"

I hope this helps anyone searching to avoid the stinkbug, possible drive line & caster correction issues.
