"the world is flat....let's not sail today, Christopher Columbus, we might get stuck on the rocks...." I am so glad we live in a world that has open minded people who aren't afraid to try something new and different. Instead of close minded, lip flapping gum suckers, let's try to be open to new perspectives. Doesn't matter what setup your rig has, anything and everything will get stuck eventually, and if not, you are not wheeling hard enough. Half of the fun (and adventure, Christopher...) is getting stuck once in a while and spraying some mud around!

I currently am running the MAF drop bracket kit with the SLEE 6' springs and LOVE IT! It's a kick ass combination of kits...(a definate best of both worlds...) from Experiance and not just lip flapping....

Everyone has to find what works best for them and the kind of wheeling adventures they want to get into. Have fun with it and show us goooooood pics!

Christo=Christopher? :D Well, John is not really trying something new. He is just trying something that I told him will start to introduce the issues that he has to deal with now. We have done enough of the lift to know what will cause issues and what not. John knew this going into it, but I had to have the little stab at him. :D Otherwise it would not be a typical Shotts buildup.

As for yours, I can believe that it works. For us 6" is about the max you can go bu making adjustable link etc etc. So with the MAF brackets, you essentially have a stock mounting points 4" lower, so you can lift taller than 6".

I am all for people doing their own thing. Many a novel idea has come out of this and other forums and boards. But the fact of the matter is, if you are going to stick 3-4" lift spring on a 80 and you correct the caster, the driveshafts are not happy. If you do not correct the caster, then the driveshafts might be ok, but then the truck drives like crap. That is fact, unless the earth is flat, then I don't know what will happen. :D

Slee's happy. I ordered a front CV shaft and the pan hard adjuster. I did continue to pull, as Slee says, a "Shotts Buildup" as I put off buying a second panhard adjuster for the front and upper rear control arms. If I need 'em I'll get 'em. Meanwhile, I sure must like called Slee often? :D NOT! :D
