im currently in 2724 springs (880lb additional). I started adding up my weights and I’m thinkig I should step up to 2725’s. I’ve got: ARB rear bumper w/ 1 swinger, roof tent, Outback Drawers, Fridge, tools, misc kitchen stove stuff, 15 gallons water, 40 gallon aux fuel tank, extended platform drawers to front seats.

I have no idea of the additional weight of the rear bumper and swinger, drawers, spare 34”.

I know in fuel I’m 350lbs full (for suspension set up purposes I’m using 1/2 full at 220lbs), water is 125lbs, Drawer contents is probably 150-200lbs. Alucab tent is 167lbs assume half of that is on rear axle so 83.5.

That’s roughly 603.5lbs without bumper/swinger, drawers, fridge, spare, food, gobi ladder, front runner rack. Think that puts me solidly in 2725 territory?? Or will I be over sprung? Thanks for the thoughts and sorry for the bit of rambling math.

How does it sit...and how does it handle?

I’m on 2724’s with a rig that tips the scales at 8120 when I’m loaded up and in the driver’s seat.

When I add the six tank, I will definitely bump up to the 25...but if I were you, I’d go weigh your front and rear axles on a CAT scale and see where you’re at.

Here is my front/rear breakdown...pre-aux-tank:

I should add that at this weight, I’m happy with the 24’s, so maybe compare to your rear axle weight.

I’m at 8110.

3820 Steer
4290 Drive

Which is what im curious about. We have almost identical weight but I have significantly more rear weight which is why I’m thinking about stepping up the rear springs.

So you have no front bumper/winch/dual batteries, twin compressor, skids & driving lights...right?

I have all of the above up front, so that would account for the big front end difference.

I’d say go for the 25’s.
-The worst thing that could happen for you is you add 2725’s...decide you don’t like them...and then sell them to me when I get to my sub tank...

:hillbilly:

You carry all that s*** daily?! Or do you not daily drive your 200?

I would say set up the suspension for how it's used 85% of the time. I know airbags are frowned upon here, but if you're only heavily loaded on occasion, they might be good for your application.

I’m looking for a daily now.

But no...those weights are loaded for a trip. Extra fuel, 4 Maxtrax, water, fridge, food, gear, etc. I also have 35’s which are heavy...and I weigh 259#. :)

Perhaps you were talking to the OP? (No quotes)

I’m running ARB front bumper with grill bar, Warn 9.5, Safari Snorkel, Dual Battery, ARB Twin, 2x ARB Intensity, Rigid Dually’s, and ARB skids hahahahah. But I travel solo so only one person in front seat?

more or less. I don’t fill the aux tank when I’m not on a long trip (so that’s 240lbs), no food or beer in the fridge, no clothes camping gear etc, no water tank more or less empty. So I guess that is about 350lbs in fluid plus 150lbs in miscellaneous. But otherwise rack, tent, drawers, bumper, tools etc is all on there full time. Drives just fine power wise especially with the 4.88’s.

While I do “daily drive” it I also go on 90 day trips in it so I would say 80% of my use is travel and wheeling.

My weights are with just me.

Hmmm...

I’m wondering if one of us may have pulled into the cat scale backwards, and you are getting your front and rear wait reversed on your read out.

I think you’re right. We’re way too similarly equipped. It was my first time using a cat scale I swore I followed the signs and directions but I’ll weigh again on Saturday to double check. Definitely interesting

Well I was bleary-eyed after sleeping in a Chevron station parking lot on my way to Cruise Moab when I pulled into the scales...so who knows. :)

After messing with the BP-51’s a ton this evening I’m abouy 90% sure it’s not a spring issue. It’s a shock setting issue. I think you’re right RE sticking with the 2724’s and trying to nail down the comp/rebound so it doesn’t feel like a freaking old school caddy floating and bobbing down the road like a boat.

So I drove to a Cat scale today and measured again. Twice (once with half full aux tank - how ill normally drive) and once with a full aux tank. I checked multiple times i definitely went in the enter this time. Your front weight difference is pretty crazy.

I think that just means I’m the one who was backwards on the scale. It was late and I was bleary-eyed. ;)

I'm in a similar situation. While I have yet to weigh my rig, it's definitely heavy with armor all the way around, ARB bumper, Slee rear bumper, 40 gal. aux., TrekBoxx Alpha, Gamaviti roof rack, RTT, awning, 40 gallons of water (we just went to the Maze), 25 Gallons of propane, 59K BTU propane camp fire, etc. On our last trip I was bouncing and rolling side to side like an old school Cadillac. I adjusted my rebound on the rear BP-51s to 10 and that helped but I'm really thinking I need to go with the 2725s or even the OME ambulance springs.

I recently took off my 25’s. Too much on moguls, rough trails unless TOTALLY loaded down. —And my truck is heavier than 20 Augustus Gloobs (if he’d kept Willy Wonka’s chocolate Factory and gorged for life... :hillbilly: )
