OK its that time to make a decision. The rig will mainly be a D.D.
I have a 1986 HJ 60 and a 1985 BJ 60 lined up for a frame, trans. motor transplant ....now I have to pick

Here are my questions.
HJ
1) Would I have to swap the entire wiring harness HJ 24v into FJ 12v? is there anyway to step down power before it goes thru firewall? (24v in engine compartment 12v all else?)
2) Are the frames the same HJ and FJ
3) Will a (gas) H55f mate the diesel motor (HJ)? If so will the (HJ auto) transfercase mate to the H55f?

I did the search but got some not all answers

Frames are the same
Tcase will fit any H55f or auto of the same year

on your diesel engine this is electric mainly,

EDIC (electric diesel injection control)
alternator
glowplugs

so really you would want to stay 12v to match your truck. the edic in 12v can be found from gands or other spot, or go to a manual injection control,.edic starts and shuts down the engine.

alternator, you can re wind, or go to a domestic alternator ( large one to run an electric vacuum pump).

glowplugs, just buy 12 volt designed plugs. and do a manual set up with a standard relay and push button. No need for timers.

hooking up a diesel for the electrics is plain simple. I would not make electrics decide which engine you buy. I would choice it based on condition and kms on the engine. Compression test etc.

at least the 2H engine will mate up with the fj stuff. I think.

So why do you have two threads on this, which seem the same?

Cant figure out how to delete the first one

Keep in mind you need to provide to your diesel engine a vaccump pump .. for your brakes .. in most of diesel are attached behind your alternator, or in your block as chain driven, or gear drive.

But other option is a electric pump .. from summit :D

Is it possible to switch off the fuel in a 2H with a cable like an old school diesel?

it would be the same as a 3b...? Edic on both. Just hook up to the injection pump lever and set up the manual cable to feel the different positions to feel the over inject, run and shutdown positions. Some thing with detents would be best I guess.... Never set one up.

One friend here setup a stick I thought is a very nice idea coz you can pull and push it ..
