I know how you feel.... although my wallet is much heavier than yours.

I bought mine for $10k back in december. One month later the head gasket decided it's time was up. My friend offered his help and together we tackled the job. We ran into a broken timing chain damper along the way which doubled the work and headache.

I would say I have easily spent $2k on this thing since I've owned. Head Gasket, valve job, radiator and a bunch of goodies from Cdan.

For a while I was pissed at the previous owner. I'm convinced he sold me this knowing the head gasket was leaking. I thought about going there multiple times and getting some payback. I hate dishonest people but I can't be positive the previous owner is one.

Now I just blame myself. Much like you I was in a hurry. I searched for 8 months(even out of state) and had many deals fall out from under me. Finally I found one locally with diff-locks and a color that I really liked... and for a lot less money than I thought I was going to pay. But it was far from mint and I have learned a valuable lesson.

8 months later I am very happy with my vehicle.

I was going to go the auction route as well. However after speaking with some people in the industry I decided against it. The biggest reason was I wanted to look it over and drive it before buying it. You just never know what you will get from an auction. If anyone needs it I have access to a nation auction data base here is the info I located nationally for your car.
