Hi just joined the MUD bath from Queensland Australia, to look, learn, and listen to as many ideas on hilux's that the mud men can throw. My style is an 85 dual cab hilux 4y slow ( tail wind assisted overtaking) petrol model, deep dark blue in color and affectionately known as 'Hank'. Presently Hank has a few extras, nothing flash, like a Warn winch, alloy bar, a few spotties, 32" tyres, roof rack, towbar, lpg, 4.11 diffs(v8 ready) and have I mentioned a very very slow 4cyl petrol motor so slow that we are always fending off calls to lead funeral processions. Anyway Hank's been in the family for 15 years and rarely missed a beat, except when he stripped the spider gears pulling 4 ton of free bricks back from the range and popped a head gasket on a shooting trip about a 100klms west of Boggabilla, just south of Boomi near the banks of Whalan Creek.
(had to cut that one short, only nailed 2 pigs and a handfull of bunnies) and is having a heart transplant in the next 6 months. Ok that's about it except I just fitted 4 runner diesel oil , temp, volts and fuel gauge clusters with pertol tacho and speedo dash to Hank. Every thing wired up and went together well but with one problem the oil pressure gauge, it works but will only just register. I have renewed the sender unit and the motor has good oil pressure and the gauge was working prior, would any one know if you have to twig with the gauge at the back like swap resistors over or why it is failing thanks? the toyota dealers are as helpfull as boobs on a bull
