I have rebuilt a 22r I am getting oil to the oil filter, there seems to be a blockage after the oil filter, is there a diagram of how the oil flows through the block?

uhhh, do you mean the oil pump is not primed?

I bet dollars to doughnuts that's yer problem. Please tell me you haven't been spinning this motor in hopes of getting OP. It should be ok cause you (hopefully) lubed it...

...yikes though...

Here's what I do.

1st, anytime you break the oil pump, re-install it with oil. I think you can use grease cause if it sits, the oil could loose its visc and loose the seal. I say this b/c I've never put a motor in right after I have re-installed a OP.

2nd, I never try to prim a motor with the spark plugs in. I try to relieve the most compression I can, b/c there is no guarantee that the OP has primed.

3rd, if you loose prime don't fret. Remove the oil filter and get a baster/ plunger thingy and suck some oil up into it. Push the oil in the smallest hole directly at the 6:00 from the threaded part the filter spins on at. That is the intake. Give the oil time to drain down to the OP, then I rotate the engine slightly in the reverse rotation so the oil can penetrate a few teeth and it's not just sitting on the top tooth. Give it time to drain down....re-install the oil filter and fire...whoops, spin her up...

I've seen that happen one time in my life. But it was due to the O-ring of a Wix filter. B/c they are not attached to the filter, the old one stuck to the engine block upon removal of the old filter, and the addition of another O-ring with the installation of the new filter. The filter was installed with two O-rings and as soon as it fired up, it spewed and peed oil....

I'd put a wet gauge on it and see what it says. You could have just got a bad filter...?
