I read Georg’s oil pan gasket write up and have a couple of questions.
1. Why copper gasket spray vs. FIPG?
2. My oil pan has some missing paint on the inside and a lot of tarnish. Seems odd to have any painted internal engine surfaces. I’m planning to leave it alone, just checking to see if anyone recommends re-painting the inside of the oil pan?
I will finish cleaning up the oil pan surface, paint that surface and the outside to prevent rust, these ribbed corners are what concerns me most about not using a liquid gasket sealer.
