Oil for 3B

Hey guys I've a got a 1985 bj73 man landcruiser and I'm having confusion on what oil should be in my car cause I hear different things. I drive it daily and it's an occasional fourbie machine (maybe 1-2 a month). If I could get some knowledgeable insight I'd very muchly appreciate it

99% of engine life is about having engine oil.
The next 0.9% is about having clean engine oil.
The last 0.1% is about having the right kind of clean engine oil. <- where we spend 99.9% of our time on the jibber jabber.
