So I did my first oil change, and I’m pretty sure my torque wrench wasn’t working properly. I set it to 18LB/FT, but it never really clicked to indicate proper torque even though I pulled pretty damn hard.

I purchased a new torque wrench. Should I loosen the filter housing and re-torque now, or leave it until my next oil change. If I do it now, will there be a lot of seepage from the loosened housing?

FWIW, I’m using the @bjowett housing.

You can always just do a filter change and oil top off to calm your heart. You can also just loosen it and re-torque after inspecting the o-ring.

Pulling hard, yanking, and using anything other than your hands should never be in the same sentence with any sort of plug, drain, filter, etc.

You can loosen it and retorque it. It takes a few turns until the oil starts coming out.
