Oil consumption...?

Dont forget about the PCV valve, I know some one posted that with an oil separator they were pulling almost a quart of oil per 1000 miles from the PCV vacuum line.

Thats my guess, and I also use 2 qts per 3000 miles

If I remeber right someone said the baffle in the valve cover might be the culprit?

I've got a 94 with 120K miles. It's been 2500 miles since my last oil change and as of yesterday I was still sitting at the "Full" line on the dip stick.

I've been changing oil every 3K miles for 12 years, and to date I've never had to add oil between changes.

My truck has seen nothing but dino, and seems to like the taste.

I'll check the pcv valve thanks...

Mystery oil loss

If I remember correctly the individual that noticed the problem rpl theirs and had the same results. At that point they put an oil separator on the vacuum line and they started pulling oil out right away.

Seems crazy but thats what I think is happening to mine too. No leaks, no smoke on start up and compression is fine......must be going somewhere?
