O.K. ... back to plan "A".

Still gonna be there 'round noon on Monday but we gonna drive all night to get there.

Josh couldn't get off work on Sunday. :frown:

:flamingo:

Arrived at Crawford's early afternoon, set up camp, played on rock garden with some j**p folks then spent a couple hours welding the J**p back together.

Was Big Country there?:flipoff2:

Well done sir! :grinpimp:

Kowboy, sorry you won't be spendin' the night in my fine abode, but PM me your Cell and I'll hit ya when we get up Monday morning. Roger tells me your gonna need someone to run interference on a couple of the turns on Hwy 64 across the Ocoee. I have no problem getting a bit lazy start and meeting ya'll and leading you to Crawfords...probably be the only time you'll actually follow my lead..:D

The is just one spot on the ocoee, the 15 mile currve, big trucks let you know on CB when they are coming up on it. The last 4 miles into Crawford's is the tight spot, I can keep my 26 footer in my lane and only intermittently run my outside trailer wheels off the road, Spanky's 18 wheeler required the whole road on many of the curves.

That was first thing that popped into my head .... big'o silver jeep with the frame broke in half .......

Sorry Brian

This one just ripped the front spring hanger off the right side, must be that jeep thing they keep telling me I don't understand.

Do you come in on Trail 1 or through Murphy?

Damn ... sounds like the hardest part of the trip's just gonna be gettin' the tow rig into camp.

I was warned 'bout them last 4 miles into camp ... we was gonna drop The Rokbus off the trailer in Murphy so Josh could lead me in.

Ain't nobody said nothin' 'bout the friggin' highway gettin' TO Murphy.

I ain't got no CB and I'm damn-near 55' long overall. Got no int'rest in dancin' with Semi's on a 15 mile curve.

I'll send ya my cell number Todd and sounds like it'd be a good deal to hook up. If'n it don't work out though, we can run Dusty in the Duramax in front of us ... he'll be alot smaller rig.

:flamingo:

Me and the Hon. Mr. Stone plan on gettin' there Sunday evening. Do we need to let Crawford's know we are camping Sunday night?

Tell me more about Hwy 64 and the road to Crawford's   My Piece O' s*** Dodge and trailer hualin' Nick's BJ and my Pig are probably just as long as Kowboy's setup.  Do I need someone to run interference for me? :frown:  :frown:

Me and Josh are now on Plan "C":

Got bid'ness in town Monday and ain't quite sure how long it's gonna take ...

so ...

see y'all sometime Tuesday.

Not sure of Dusty and Tammy's plans yet.

Doc/Nick....are yawl tenting it?

If so I will swag the spot next to me so we can setup the commune....feels funny me saying that instead of Kowboy:grinpimp:

Sounds like a good plan Clutchee.
I doubt the last road will be a problem.... but, you never know when you'll find a wayward WalMart truck on a country road. Seems they're as prolific as armadillos.
;-)

Doc,

If you have a CB then just get on Channel 19 when you're approaching the turn and say "East Bound Big Truck approaching the 15mph turn" According to Roger this is a common issue and all the local trucks know what this means. Roger told me it was well marked, but I can't verify that.

the rest of the road into Crawfords (last 4 miles) is just up hill switchbacks and the road shouldn't be too busy when ya'll come through.

Let me know if you need any more info. I'll PM you my cell incase you need anything on the way. I'm not headed up until Monday AM so I'll be in Chattanooga when you pass through...

No CB in the POS Dodge tow rig, just in the Pig and it ain't portable. I'm sure we'll be OK. Thanks for the head's up though. Might call ya as we go through Chatt. if it's early enough. Either way, we'll se ya there. :grinpimp: :grinpimp:

Lookin' forward to it. :bounce: :bounce:

Sorry I had not gotten to this here thread to answer questions, the little time I had when I was not wheelin , drinkin or fixin broke J**Ps has been taken up answer E-mails and PMs mostly on how to get here from VA.
Thanks Todd and Clutchee you gave them right answers.
The spaces on either side of Clutchee's are not reserved for Sunday yet, they have electric and water hook ups so they tend to go fast, I'll reserve one or two for sunday night if you all want?
As for the road, just take it slow, long trailers and RV's come in here every weekend.

Well, I hate to do all the thinking for you, but if 64 is crowded on Sunday...and it might be, I can't remember if the river's open...just stop, kindy ask Nick to get out of the POS Dodge and sit in the Piggy...tune said non portable CB to 19, push the little button on the mic, and say that Kotter's coming thru and everbody get the Hell out of the way.:flipoff2:

After you pass the second dam, its safe to stop and let Nick back in the POS Dodge...but its your choice, :grinpimp:

Can you tell I'm bored waiting here at the hospital for a x-fer from BFE...

BTW, are ya'll coming through Nashville or Huntsville, AL?

Todd

Both, I think. We're thinking about driving the northern path one way and the southern path the other. We don't want to recross any bridges we burn along the way. Anyway, Doc's so popular I can't stand the media attention.

BTW, I always have an extra CB. So, the POS Dodge will have yakkity-yak. I just kept quiet about it 'cause the thread was fun to read. ;-)

Happy Trails! N

Well folks, we came the northern route planning to go through Nashville to Chatt and we made it to Benton, Ar (just west of Little Rock). Pulled off to get a Gatorade and pee and saw the trailer wheels wobbling somethin' feirce on the driver's side. Stopped in a not so upscale part a town to find only one lug nut doin' its damndest to hold both wheels on. :crybaby: Most of the lug studs damaged beyond repair. Needless to say, we're spending the night at this here Ramada that is kind enough to supply free Wi-Fi. If we can get this fixed on a Sunday, then we'll be on our way. Otherwise, might be stuck here till Monday. We'll keep ya posted if we can get internet service. We'll be there for sure, just might be a day or day 1/2 later.

BTW, Roger, we got no RV. Nick and I are tentin' it.

thanks to all,
I'll let ya know how Nick fares riding in the Piggy usin' the CB. :grinpimp:
