Might be looking for a set of wheels for an 80. Need to start shopping for a set of MT's as well. Anyone wanna part with a stock set, let me know.

I saw that but thought it was a 73 with the round rear lights...but hte pics of the frame look like it has no cutouts at all. I might call just to see.

I drove out there and took a look at this one a couple of weeks ago. Really nice family. His dad showed me the truck. The frame was in good shape and the engine was clean. The hardtop is in good shape, but has some rust around the PR corner. They have not cranked it up since the rebuild according to dad. For some reason I want to say it's a 9/72 and not a 73. I may be wrong, but I remember being off a year when I looked at it.

I think a production date of 9/72 would make it a '73 model. From the pics, the bucket seats, newer steering wheel, and gas filler door would also make it a '73 model.

Got an itch to switch tires on the 80. Looking for fome 16.5" wheels and some 37" tires.

Let me know if anyone has something that would work.

Anyone with an FJ out there I have an AllPro tranny skid and IFS skid. New they cost over $350 plus shipping. They were on my truck for less than two weeks and never wheeled. Will sell for $250 OBO because I don't think the hardware is still with them. Need the money for some projects on the new 40.

Mountain Hardwear Men's Xenon Jacket - $150 New

Let me know if you are interested and I'll link you up, friend of a friend selling, email I got:

Any of your hiking/cycling/sporting buddies need a great jacket? Got one for fathers day, cut the tags off before I tried it on. It is smaller than I would like. It fits me but I am heavier than I have ever been. Old age I guess
Size large, black, Mountain Hardwear Xenon Goretex jacket, never worn.
So I ordered an extra large and obviously don’t need two high end jackets.
I would take 150…quite a deal for somebody. I am going to put it on Ebay for 225 if no one needs it that I know.

Wanted - Tailgate for 77 FJ40

Hi fellas. I need some guidance. I bought an 880 lbs hoist and seatbelt strap set up from a guy who sold his 40 on eBay so I can easily take the top off and store it out of the way. Now that I'm about to take her out topless, I need a tailgate to affix a license tag to and to keep my stuff from falling out on a trail. Anyone got one laying around to sell or can you recommend where to go? I found a steel one on CCOT on sale for < $100. Suggestions? I know Jon (S4Cruiser) has been on the hunt for one as well...

I'd post in the WTB section in the main forum or just pull the trigger on one. Call around though so you can find one in stock. CCOT doesnt always have them in stock but a lot of the cruiser places sell them. You will have to paint it or have it painted if you want it to match.

Cut yourself a nice piece of marine grade plywood to fit the mounting holes, sand it, stain it red, and call it done!

make sure to get treated wood to prolong it, never thought about this but would be kindof sweet to just stain it a nice light stain and leave it.

You "can" mount the license plate frame to one of the holes used by the amby door lower hinge. I actually did this in Moab and it worked out okay. In fact, I have a panel, but rarely use it. If I'm going sans top, I just leave it out. If I want the soft top to fit though, I have to put it in. My beef with the panel is that it's in the way. It would be much better to make some sort of tailgate that swings down or away.....Hmmmm......I have an idea. Why not make a U shaped angle iron frame that firmly attaches to the amby hinge locations and door stop in the center. Then you can make a hinged tailgate or half doors that hinge off of the angle iron frame. Hmmmm......dibs on that idea!

I just welded up a 1" square frame and skinned it. I used flat stock to make "ears" that are welded to the frame and overlap the tub where the hinges bolt. painted it the same color as the rest of the Cruiser.

Chevy/GMC tonneau cover

Fiberglass tonneau cover for short bed Chevy/GMC truck for sale or trade. The cover came off of an '04 GMC HD truck, and is in great condition. It is black, but could be painted to match your truck. $500 or trade for camper shell.

I should have prefaced my request to say that in addition to being a big-time rookie, I am a banker and last worked in a prototyping shop with vast access to tools in 1992.

Thankfully Jon (S4Cruiser) sent me a PM after my post and might be selling me his "almost perfect shape" tailgate which has holes predrilled for a license plate mount.

If that doesn't pan out, I will likely try the marine grade plywood (definitely treated) before CCOT or some other route.

Hope to have the hoist up and working by end of the weekend! Thanks again guys!
