I saw that but thought it was a 73 with the round rear lights...but hte pics of the frame look like it has no cutouts at all. I might call just to see.
I drove out there and took a look at this one a couple of weeks ago. Really nice family. His dad showed me the truck. The frame was in good shape and the engine was clean. The hardtop is in good shape, but has some rust around the PR corner. They have not cranked it up since the rebuild according to dad. For some reason I want to say it's a 9/72 and not a 73. I may be wrong, but I remember being off a year when I looked at it.
Got an itch to switch tires on the 80. Looking for fome 16.5" wheels and some 37" tires.
Let me know if anyone has something that would work.

I just welded up a 1" square frame and skinned it. I used flat stock to make "ears" that are welded to the frame and overlap the tub where the hinges bolt. painted it the same color as the rest of the Cruiser.
You "can" mount the license plate frame to one of the holes used by the amby door lower hinge. I actually did this in Moab and it worked out okay. In fact, I have a panel, but rarely use it. If I'm going sans top, I just leave it out. If I want the soft top to fit though, I have to put it in. My beef with the panel is that it's in the way. It would be much better to make some sort of tailgate that swings down or away.....Hmmmm......I have an idea. Why not make a U shaped angle iron frame that firmly attaches to the amby hinge locations and door stop in the center. Then you can make a hinged tailgate or half doors that hinge off of the angle iron frame. Hmmmm......dibs on that idea!
