Hello Fellas,

So.... I've been out of work for quite a few weeks now (I was working on a grant funded research project that didn't get refunded) and I'm finding it a bit more difficult to find work that I had imagined. :bang:

Now, I have in the past stumbled into job opportunities or have gotten leads from friends. Since I know no one out here in Colorado other than you fine gentlemen, I thought I'd see if you all have any idea for me. It's the first time I haven't had a job since I was 13 and it's not fun.

I have a few leads and a few interviews coming up, but I'm hoping to broaden my search.

I have a Master's in Science Education and a Bachelors in Psychology.

Here are a few of my more memorable jobs (partially to give you an idea of what I can do and partially to make Luke chuckle):
Research Specialist – Medical Research Data Mining
Home Loan Account Manager
High School Teacher – Science
University Lab Instructor – Biology
Hospital - Employee Health Services
Psychological Technician – Counseling & Patient Care
Bicycle Shop Asst. Manager – Bicycle Repair & Sales
Asst. Laboratory Supervisor – Prepped teaching labs
UPS – Truck Loader
Bank - Supplies & Warehouse
Retail - Sports, Toys & Warehouse
Woodworking – Cabinets, Fireplace Mantels, etc… & Delivery, Installation, etc…
Hardware Store – Warehouse & Sales
Pizza Delivery
General Construction (for my dad’s construction biz – hardest job I’ve ever had :D)
I've been offered a job back in Missouri, but it's in Missouri (pronounced "Misery" :hillbilly:) and I'd rather stay out here for obvious reasons.

Any ideas (jobs, websites, companies to check out, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

I was a former police officer, breathalyzer operator, train inspector, bathroom attendant....

Lmao. Just messing with you man, you're a well rounded individual whose peace loving demeanor will make you highly successful!

Keep an eye on Indeed.com, it worked miracles for many people I know including myself. Heather said her company's mortgage office might be looking for a mortgage guy.

I spoke with the Dean of Faculty at The Fountain Valley School. There may be some substitute teach opportunities there with perhaps a permanent position opening next school year. Let me know if you're interested and I can get you some more info on how to apply.

Oh... and yes, I realize that being a socially progressive peace-loving hippie hurts my chances here in the Springs. ;)

The Fountain Valley School loves socially progressive hippies. Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead attended FVS.
Better yet the new head Master is a landcruiser enthusiast

I'll pass this on to my GF who teaches in D11.
Good luck!

Sounds like a cool place. I'd definitely be interested in applying.

No, but working on it. Wasn't sure I wanted to go back to teaching, but I figure it couldn't hurt to get.
