Inverter location

It ended up being to tight under the dash and the center console. I ended up placing it in the same location the factory did in the matrix, under the drivers seat. The relay is under the shifter console in the upper left front corner.

I would be VERY interested in this "package" if someone had it used or had access to get one.

Did the inverter and switches come all together out of the same car? I guess I can't figure out if you used a different inverter or not. If the whole system is a match, and the 100 watts at 115 volts is correct, then it is rated a little below .9 amps. That isn't much power. For example, my laptop requires 1.6 amps for the plug-in charger. Not trying to rain on your install, I think it rocks that you were able to find Toyota parts to get it all done. I will be looking to adding an inverter myself soon. I want to be able to run a small printer to print off hiking maps while on vacation. Without the Matrix owners manual, you may not have been aware of the power limits.

Have fun in Big Bend. I hear the Chisos Lodge restaurant has a special on mountian lion burgers this month... :hillbilly:

Inverter

I only needed it for my IPhone and IPad, it does the trick for that, plus for $5 ($5.41 with tax) I could not go wrong. I did get everything out of the same Matrix. Do know of 3 complete Set ups in my local yard, I did not get I t from him because he is generally more expensive than the yard I got mine from. if anyone has any interest I could ask how much?

I'm interested. Please let me know what it will cost for the kit.

If I get all of the necessary parts I will just add a larger inverter to the mix.

I'm interested in the switch an the outlet if you can get them

poorly typd on my iPhone using IH8MUD

I guess I'll be the 4th in line for the 3 sets...

Still trying to figure out where I will be placing my switch and outlet. Have had them for quite some time, and ran out of switch blanks. Found the following switch blanks which work with the Mr. T switches at West Marine. Allows you to cut a square hole into any flat plastic, such as the center console, and mount the switches with a decent surround. You can also add more, as they slide together. Will post again once I sort where these end up in my rig.

Where you able to acquire any more of these parts? Still interested.

hi all,
i am copying you 80 purist guys and doing this same "full oem mod" in my first generation 4runner. I scored all of the oem parts from the pick n pull for less than 10 bucks.

what i was wondering is if someone could post up a clearer image of the first overall EWD photo. i have most of it figured out, but want to make sure what wires go where on the relay. from looking at what i have here, it seems that the switched load from the relay (high current) should be plumbed into the solid green wire on the inverter itself. can someone confirm?

or, could someone point me to a link where i could download the full fsm for the matrix? i couldn't google one up...

thanks in advance
bryan

That's switch is similar to a defroster switch. Looks like a rear defroster switch can be used if you can't find the 115 V switch.
