anybody converted their 68/69/70 pig to dual circuit power brakes with a Weber?
seems like between the clutch slave hitting the power booster and the weber hitting the end of the MC, i can't make anything fit! do later FJ55's have significant firewall differences?

I'm using a '87 mini truck booster, 71 FJ40 master, on a 1/70 FJ55 w/F-engine and Weber.

no weber, but we did dual circuit on bosshogs 69 using a mini booster and an fj80 master. we did have to swap the 2f intake and carb for an f setup. it's tight, but no issues with contacting the clutch master.

what year mini? part of my problem is that IFS 4x4 mini trucks had 9.5" diameter boosters, while 79-85 4x4's had 8.5" diameter boosters.

I already have the F intake (on an F engine).

edit: reading your thread right now...

well, i couldn't get the 9.5" booster to fit for the life of me. between the intake and the throttle cable, it is too much. I broke down and ordered an 8.5" dia. 84 4runner booster from rockauto....

for throttle cable, we went to a motorcycle style that doesnt' have the long straight neck on the engine side of the firewall

the oem throttle cable sticks out a few inches
the bike cables bend after coming through the firewall

cable 2.webp

cable 1.webp

Has anyone done a power steering and hydro boost upgrade? That would save room, right?

Well, the new 84 4runner booster shoul be here in the morning. I'm using a mc from a
71 fj55 (still drums in front). Also have to buy a brake line. I'll post pics when I get it working, if it helps anybody out.

mounted the 84 4runner booster, had to machine some aluminum spacers on my lathe to space it away from the throttle cable. It also helped with not having to shorten the pushrod, with the spacers it ended up the correct length. Used a 71 FJ40 master (had to purchase the stupid pressure switches to seal those holes)

Used some brake tube unions from Summit Racing (PN 274000) to eliminate the T on the pass. side framerail, and I still need to run a line from the MC to the new rear circuit. Clears the manifold, the side of the Weber (barely), the throttle cable and the clutch MC. don't know about the air filter yet though.
