We've had some massive erosion on Hatteras Island over the last couple of months from Buxton North. That, combined with 3 beach fishing tournaments in 3 weeks really has the beaches chewed up and with very soft sand. Make sure to air down for best use on the beach.

@svsisu Are you stopping by? I would like to check out your troopy.
If timing works would love to swing by the campground or find you guys on the beach. Since you will be here the following week we can definitely catch up at some point. I'll DM you my number so we can stay in touch when you're here.

Awesome.

Anyone cruising around north of the cape and wants to see a cool ship wreck, there is one exposed between Ramp 25 and Ramp 27, closer to 27. Depending on conditions it may only be accessable from 27 at low tide. Big surf had 25 closed over the last couple of days. No one seems to be sure what ship it is, seems doubtful that it is part of the GA Kohler, which a small portion can also be seen at Ramp 27

Anyone interested in a half day fishing trip on Saturday? I'd probably lean to the 12 noon versus 7am option... LMK:

Lots of options. I figured this isn't as cheap as beach fishing but it's probably a lock that you'll bring fish back to camp.

There are definitely lots of options on Fishing Booker, but If you want to do an inshore/sound side trip I'd give Captain Jerry of Got Em charters a call directly.

His boat is in Hatteras and he's been fishing this area 30+ years.

I'm going to be hoping to catch some waves if the surf cooperates.

Pretty board. Local shaper?
Looks like an Aleutian Juice?? Hawaii/Cali shaper named Dave Parmenter. Only reason I know that; he is good friends with an old Coast Guard buddy of mine. Dave actually shaped a board for @scj many years ago, specifically for NC waves.

@UZJ105 for the win with a keen eye and excellent board knowledge. Dave is a super nice guy and incredible shaper. He shaped a 6'5" "Widow Maker" and the 6'0" single fin for me. I was actually riding the Widow Maker yesterday, but the single fin is usually in the truck.

And I thought I was good at spotting boards. That’s really cool.

Sadly, I have to cancel. My wife fell and hit her back pretty hard the other day. She hasn't been able to do much without being in a lot of pain. This means she can't drive or help dropoff (or pick up) kiddos from school. It also means that she is mostly immobile while I'm gone, which doesn't sit well with me. She can't do much for the kids while I'm gone. For that reason I'm going to have to sit this trip out.

Sorry to have to miss this one. Ya'll catch some fish, or killer waves for me.

Dam that sucks!

Holy crap - sucks for anyone that was on loop A.

Thankfully Loop D's nuts is not effected:

Due to a water leak, A Loop facilities are closed until further notice. All other loops remain open as usual. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while repairs are underway.
