it took us two attempts to complete the WBDR (2012 and 2013) so it is unlikely we will get through the OBDR in one go. Oregon is a beautiful state.
So what is WBDR? Who is organizing this trip you are going on? I've spent time in Bend, and met Kevin R when
he first moved to Eugene. I've got a friend with a place up on the Columbia, so many reasons to go to Oregon.
I'm considering an Oct trip down there, if I take the Coho out of Victoria it is affordable.
This looks like a good trip.

I am planning on Route 3 of the OBDR in last week of August. Which routes might you do Glenn?

Likely Route 5 Section 1 to 5 - north to south - looks the gnarliest.
But may take Route 3. I like to talk to locals along the way to chose the most interesting route.

That area sounds great. Sadly it's a bit hard for us to get over to that side from our starting point (Van) in the time we have. I hope you are able to post some pictures!

From Vancouver I5 to Bellevue, I90 to Ellensberg, WA then I 82 to Keenewick then state Hwy 122 to Walla Walla, WA

WBDR = Washington Backroads Discovery Route. GPS tracks are available on line for both.
I am 90% committed to this trip. Should know soon.

If you were feeling super ambitious, you could link WABDR and OBDR. the Washington trail starts right outside of osoyoos.

We have done the WBDR twice - north to south 60% and south to north 70%-- too many other trails to explore than to do again.
Sounds like a great trip...Still have all my holidays

OBDR departure tomorrow morning - bright an early -- We have one 74, two 81's and one 100 series heading to Walla Walla, WA

Back today - Did Route 5 and 4 to Sisters. Dan continued on south. Rest maybe next year.
Good trip, hot day swims, good grub, many great experience, lots of laughs and camaraderie -- climbed many manned (and womened) and unmanned fire towers some up 150'), basically 2WD gravel travel for the most part. Diesel as low as $1.00 USD per litre.
