Whoah.... don't quite know what to say other then I've considered redoing my taillights as well since the stock stuff is so hard to find..... but can't figure out anything that actually looks right.

I don't like those at all! Looks way too much like an afterthought. There's a reason why some of us have a piggy parts stash! I pick up piggy parts I find at the wreckers. If I can't use it I'll offer them to others here.
