Answers about www.180parts.com
I'll take these one at a time.
I looked at the site last night and I like the idea.
I tried a couple of searchs and didn't find any items I searched for so my first question would be how many parts are currently on the site and my next question would be how long has the site been up?
Thanks for the feedback and constructive comments. We're here to serve the automotive enthusiasts and so we want to be able to fit the needs of the automotive community.
Since this is a member driven marketplace you will only find parts that our members have posted, and at this time it is a small amount since we're new and growing. This is where you come in. We're letting any new member post up to 100 parts for sale for free for their first month. This gives you time to test out the service, sell some parts and give us some feedback. Currently we're getting between 10 and 50 searches for parts every day. Google is sending us a lot of referrals and Bing is catching up. This is where the opportunity to post items and sell items is hot.
One of our members has sold about $250 worth of 3rd Gen 4Runner parts in the last month.
Currently there are about 35 parts posted on the site. These change weekly as users sell items and post new items. Most of the items are Toyota 4Runner and Mini-truck parts.
The site has been live for about a year and a half. It's been growing the user base on an average of 20% per quarter.
I look a the website the copyright was 2009, it hasn't been updated since. I tried to find some parts for my car, there was nothing.
There are a few ways to copyright a website. One is copyrighting it the year it was designed (C 2009). Another is to copyright it the current year and change it each and every year (C 2011). Another is to copyright it for all the years (C 2009-2011). Originally it was thought best to use the first method. We now see that that method can be confusing and we'll be moving to the third method. That will corrected shortly so as to avoid the look that it's not a current website. As you can see from the above it's quite the opposite.
As far as finding parts for your car let me expound on this a bit by saying that
180Parts.com - Used car parts marketplace is not a company who sells every part for every vehicle. We feel that there enough of those websites out there. We are a little different. Our goal is to connect automotive parts buyers and sellers nationwide by building a virtual salvage yard of parts that are in our users garages, barns, storage units, under their beds, or wherever they like to keep them. With the current growth I believe this is a great time to get in, sell some parts, build your reputation and help influence the direction of this site.
Thanks for the great questions. I hope this has adequately answered them. Feel free to ask any more or give feedback, comments, and suggestions as the site has to serve the automotive enthusiast community. If it's not doing that, then it's just taking up space out there on the web and it won't last long.
