Novel rear seat option?

Not to hijack but agree... Tom's Bronco site ...has a perfect seat that fits EXACTLY b/w the wells.

As far as the bus seat, just depends upon how wide it is and I'd think it would be very tall in the back...it'd have to be cut a bit.

Do a bit of searcihng... this has been beat to death in regards to seating.

Good luck

Yep. Thanks, and trust me, I did TONS of searching. That's why I started the thread as a novel option. Hadn't seen anyone using school bus seats.

I use the Dodge seat in the rear also but some real simple mods will set the seat closer to the floor. I put mine in for the kids but it is also quite comfy for adults. Even leaves enough room behind it for high-lift, shovel, etc...

What did you do as far as mods to lower it and how much do you think it drops the seat? Thanks!

I just removed the stock risers and made new ones with angle iron so the back edge of the seat was about 2" off of the floor. The front is about 5" off the floor allowing a gently reclined seating position and a bit more storage under the seat.

I assume this wasn't the dodge seat? I thought it went all the way across the fenders.

Iron Pig Offroad is getting fold and tumble rear bench seats for the 40. Should be in by now. only $200 brand new.

I just picked up a pair of bucket-type seats from a '93 Lumina Van...the kind that snap in and out. I seldom carry 4 people and like the idea of easy removal.
I'm going back and cabbage the inserts in the floor and try the idea. I'm not too happy about cutting the floor of the '40, but that is reversable with some effort.
The seatbacks are low and fold flat, even have cupholders. Two of them fit perfectly between the wheel wells with a little room to spare.

the previous owner of my cruiser switched the bench seat up front and just bolted it to the back. It fits great back there but i need the room for all my randon recovery gear, lol. Its in great shape its been restored. If you wanna buy it i'll sell it cheap cheap because im never gonna use it. I dont like having more than one passenger in my rig bc they play with the intercom and cuss people out going down the road-gets kinda annoying.
