My 79 series has the R151 NOT the H55F, they did not offer the H55F on the 79 series as far as I know, l
The H55F it's a old bulletproof tranny .. that it's no longer available from any new model ..

I mean the type that has it coming out of the front and then angles into the fender.
I thought for sure you said it had an H55F in it, no biggy though. Naw, I'll just buy a new R151, I'm hoping I can get the winter out of it.
Let me know please.
Thanks.

Sorry Michael! I should have been more clear, there WERE no HZ clutches available in the US on that particular day in 2007. We spoke briefly on the phone and you very helpfully gave me some info and told me that you were just out of stock at the time and that you would have more in shortly. I certainly did not mean to belittle your efforts!Just a correction for you, there are clutches available in the US, I stock both exedy and toyota for the complete clutch kit, pressure plate, clutch disc, and TO bearing. Like crusher mentioned in earlier post.
Michael
I am not sure I have a stock non snorkel one, I was planning on putting a factory snorkel on mine but I can't bring myself to cut the fenderIf I do I would sell the one I have. I will look in inventory and see if I have any that are stock.
I think the 79 series in OZ had the H151 instead of the R151, they had the 1Hd-FTE which was a lot more HP than the the 1HZ model, perhaps somone from OZ on hear could confirm, that might be another option for you (I had the H151 in my HDJ80L, it rocked).
Cheers,
Michael
Only the turbo models and the 100 series GXL non turbo got the H151. Thre 78/79/105 series 1HZ had the R151

Ghen, I got the Isuzu disk from Buffalo truck center, no idea what it cost but I can look at the invoice if you like.
I was hoping that was not the answer, but feared it would be. I drove a brand new one at the dealer in 2005 when I was in OZ, it was the decked out model with the 1HD-FTE, it completely rocked
.
I must say I am getting used to the R151 in my 79 series, it seems to be ok, but then again I don't wheel that truck.
I think they also put the same R151 in the Tacoma as well, and they do offer a gas v6 that has more HP than the 1HZ and probably the 1hd-FTE so it should be fine.
Cheers,
Michael
FYI, I found the following part numbers on Toyodiy.com and then called Rick at Ralph Hayes Toyota in SC (offers 25% discount for ih8mud members), and according to him the parts are available and cheaper than what I can find in the after market once you consider shipping from AUS. Here's what I found:
TOB: 31230-60130 $56.01
PP: 31210-36330 $151.61
Pilot: 90363-15017 $12.95
Disc: 31250-60222 $128.44
So, for about $350 you can get an OE clutch kit! Rick even offered to cover my shipping to VT!
An exedy kit from Roodogs will cost about $400 after shipping. I am waiting to hear back from a couple local exedy dealers to see if they can order the kit direct, but it looks like the OE kit will be the cheapest. I'll post up what I find out.
Are those Exedy clutch that good .?
Ive had mine for 2 years and 40000 klms. Still feels like new. Never been able to smoke it
My dealer said they are better than OEM,by better I think he meant heavier duty
Are Aussie made .. ?
have a friend from Belgium here who said are the best .. ( what they cost .. they should .. )

My son says it feels like pushing your foot into a bucket of sand
He drives a corrola
They have 3 types,OEM replacement,Heavy duty Sports Tuff and Safari Tuff for competiton.
I have the Sports Tuff and they cost $489AUD for the 79 series 1HZ and $545 for the 75 series 1HZ
I could not see a 1HD T listing on Roodogs, but he would have them
I think there are better prices around but I am not sure where or if they do overseas orders
They do oversees orders. I bought a set of glow plugs from them, but the weight of these kits mean almost $150 USD to get it hear in 1-3 weeks, or almost $75 to get here in 2-3 months...
I know roodogs do overseas orders but cheaper sources often dont do them was what I meant.
Shipping costs are crazy but $150 sounds a bit stiff for glow plugs. Australia Post is usually the cheapest for items under 20kg.
I would have thought glow plugs to be about $30-40. Its roughly $15 per kg to N America for 1-3 weeks and another $5 for Express if you want them within 10 days.
I would double check with the seller,I think you are due for a refund. I sent a whole rear axle shaft for $180AUD to Canada inc packing
