I have a new to me 2013 LX570 and am not sure if the backup camera behavior and guidelines are normal or not. And occassionally I get an unexpected error message. I am hoping someone can tell me if this is normal, or what normal should look like.

This is what I think may be a normal display?

Sometimes I get various guidelines and flags

And sometimes I get an error message and all the guidelines disappear

Wow. Yeah. Not that it helps you, but I’ve never seen anything like that on me rear-view (or any-view) camera.

Your can change the type of lines imposed in the screen as you show, but are they changing by themselves? If so, that's not normal.

Change by going into settings? No I am not doing that. They are changing by themselves as I turn the wheel.

Do you use the front parking camera? If so have you received a calibration error message? If so it wil tell you how to caibrate the front sensors. Maybe they are linked for calibration.

Not sure what you mean by the front parking camera.

No error messages other than the one shown in my picture above.

I'll play with it tomorrow, try to find a calibration or setting somewhere that may fix it.

Thanks!

Yes, I recently replaced the battery, but if I remember correctly, I had this same behavior before I changed it. I do not recall seeing a System Initializing message. I will check this tomorrow.

The other graphics (flags and such) are the parallel parking assist. There is a way to turn it on and off in settings. I vaguely remember the salesman going over it on delivery of my 2013, 13 years ago now. Crazy, time flys.

These buttons on the bottom of the screen change the mode from backup assist / parallel park assist and other things. When I toggle through those I get the lines like shown in the first picture. That may be the issue with mine, except for the error message. Need to figure out if there is a calibration function (I am guessing so just haven't found it yet).
