So I'm up in Santa Rosa (bay area) and I found a cruiser in Huntington beach and I'm wondering if a local mudder could take a look for me and give me the thumbs up to take the next step.

Step 2: I either get on a plane and rent a truck/trailer when I get there or fill my luggage with tools/parts from my 60. Or fill the trunk w/tools/parts and drive down with the wife and caravan back. Or try to arrange mudship.

Hey Chris. We have a couple of members in HB and hopefully one of them can take a look for you! I am nearby and would offer but am away for a few days. If you still need someone, i will be back on Sunday and can swing by!
 
Today (raining) and tomorrow (granite shopping) are all full. HB is a little far; 50ish miles, but if nobody else steps up, I could do it perhaps Friday, but hopefully you can find someone up in the southbay area. Offering since one of your gang in Santa Rosa helped me move some items out of my daughters apartment a year ago and I'm willing to 'pay it forward'.
 
Pretty close for me, I think there is even someone that lives in HB. I could look at it this weekend, PM me the info. and your number to work out the details.

Silvercruiser is in HB, but he's sold his cruiser hasn't he?
