Just started getting an intermittent ‘chirp’ sound when the clutch is engaged. As soon as pressure is put on the pedal - it stops. The sound is almost like a belt/pulley squeal. Maybe irrelevant but it started as soon as the temps in VA became more seasonal a few days ago. Very intermittent once the truck is up and running (warmed up). I checked the pedal height which is in spec and the clutch fluid.

I do have a leak at the front of the trans so before long I was going to replace the front seal, rear seal, oil pan gasket, and rebuild the clutch. Just trying to rule out or in something that requires immediate attention, or not. Again - no noise with the clutch pedal depressed or moving it in/out.

173K on the truck/trans. Shifts really smooth, a little grinding going into reverse occasionally.

Throw out bearing making noise when it is not under load. Probably more annoying than needing any immediate attention. Wait until you really need to pull the transmission and replace it then.
