Still in the F A Q

These are the step measurements on the F style flywheel and the 2F style flywheel...

F Flywheel uses the three-finger pressure plate. .630" step or 16.002mm

2f Flywheel uses the diaphragm style pressure plate. .020" step or .508mm

2F Flywheel for the diaphragm style clutch:

Poser: I "thought" that the cause for the destruction of the flywheel bolt heads was caused by the disc being installed backwards. Went back to the shop this morning (they have the rig for changing the old F engine for a 2F) and saw that it had not been installed backwards. What has happened is that the contact surface has been machined to a point which allows the disc springs to hit the flywheel bolts. They are going to repair the flywheel. I grimmace at what they are going to do since obviously they didn't pay any attention before. Do you have any dimension for minimum thickness of the flywheel where the attach bolts go through? Thanks.
