No free play at the clutch fork

89 4Runner 22RE. A few months ago I rebuilt the clutch master and slave cylinders... I have adjusted the clutch master push rod, and it is completely free in between the pedal and the master, so there's no pressure on the master when the pedal is up... But I have no free play at the clutch fork...

My only thought is that one of the cylinders is stuck and not retracting all the way...?

Before the rebuild they both worked fine, and I had free play, but the slave was leaking so I rebuilt them both and there were in good shape, not rusty of rough inside...

Anyone have a thought on this? Thanks!

is clutch dragging?
cant be too much play if not ant otherwise i think that the rod between the slave and fork would fall out

Clutch is working fine... If there's no free play then it could be running the throwout bearing and sacrificing clutch pressure... But I don't notice any strange noises or operation... It's a mystery...

I checked mine the other day while puting the dual cases back in.
no play just sitting there but I could make play by pushing the shift fork into the slave.

sounds like it is ok to me.
