In case you haven't heard, like I just now have, Nissan will offer a 550lb/ft, 300HP Cummins Turbo Diesel option in the Titan by 2015. I fear Toyota is going to lose out on a lot of Tundra sales, but we'll see.
Here's an article: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20130821/CARNEWS/130829971

And here's a slightly unrelated but interesting tidbit from within the article:
"Later this year, Ram will offer a V6 turbodiesel from VM Motori in the light-duty or 1500 versions of the Ram."

They are going to have to completely redesign that truck in 2 years because of the new emissions regs for 2017. So, they're dumb. And also the Titan is the biggest piece of :censor: in the truck market. Doesn't matter if the engine is good or not. The truck is guaranteed to be garbage. :D

But how many people do you know who love a cummins motor? Not saying they (Toyota) haven't done their homework and know the market, but I feel like Nissan will gain sales just because they are offering the option, even if the truck is crap. I understand basic econ and why Toyota won't retool a motor for our market, it's all about $$ and I know I can't afford to drop 40k plus for a new truck, but that doesn't make it suck any less....

Besides why I gotta be a fan of the only major auto maker without a diesel option..... hell Audi, VW, and BMW all have diesels

Not trying to pick a fight, just sayin :meh:

Just for reference, my truck stickers for almost 45k. A diesel would be prob 10k more? Just sayin...

You work for Mr. T himself, you cant like anything that one of your biggest competitors makes :grinpimp:

As for Titans being complete crap, I totally agree. I have a friend who has had one for the past 5 years and he has basically replaced everything on the truck at least once. BUT when you throw a Cummins in any truck, it will make it worth a lot more and LOTS of people will buy it. Look at Dodge, them putting a Cummins diesel in the Ram was by far the best thing Dodge ever did to their trucks. Everything else really around the Cummins sucks on a Dodge, but I owned one and loved it and would love to have another (In the process of trying to find one).

Yeah, I would venture to say that having Cummins on board has saved the RAM series from the brink. I don't know about the Nissan's first hand, but what Nick said was the actual point I was making. People love anything with a Cummins in it.
